Green Futures Academy
Green Futures Academy, a workforce development program of the Black Landscapers Alliance, designed to prepare Baltimore residents for high-demand careers in landscaping, green infrastructure, and the broader environmental sector. Our next cohort begins January 15, 2025, and we are currently recruiting both program participants and employer partners. The Green Futures Academy provides: A full-time, 8-week training program Hands-on instruction in landscaping, equipment operation, and green infrastructure Industry-recognized certifications Job-readiness coaching and direct hiring pathways Supportive services to reduce barriers to employment Classes run Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, and attendance is required.
Project JumpStart Training
Since 2006, Project JumpStart has been a leading pre-apprenticeship/job readiness training program, delivering comprehensive classroom and hands-on training for Baltimore City residents. Our students receive job placement assistance, certifications in CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10 safety standards, as well as essential safety training, professional development, financial coaching, driver's education, and individualized wraparound support, including case management.
Turnaround Tuesday
Southwest
Turnaround Tuesday trains its participants to act on issues as leaders in their communities and in their workplaces. Through strategic partnerships with employers throughout the Baltimore region, Turnaround Tuesday has put over 600 (and counting!) Baltimore citizens to work in living wage jobs.Every Tuesday, participants, guests, and leaders gather at two training sites. We share our stories, listen to each other, and become leaders as we take part in this second chance jobs movement.
